Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu
    • Cut the drained and pressed tofu into 2-inch triangles and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Coating
    • In a bowl, mix together the cornstarch, panko, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and nutritional yeast.
  3. Season the Tofu
    • Add the soy sauce to the tofu triangles and mix gently to coat evenly.
  4. Coat the Tofu
    • Add the tofu to the bowl with the dry mixture. Shake or gently toss to coat each piece thoroughly.
  5. Cook the Tofu
    • Heat the neutral oil in a heavy pan over medium heat.
    • Fry the tofu in batches, flipping halfway through, for about 10 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
    • Place the cooked tofu on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve
    • Serve with wasabi and soy sauce on the side. Enjoy!
